Key Takeaways
- An infused pre-roll is a joint with concentrate added inside, on the outside, or both.
- The main infusions are THCa diamonds, live resin, hash or rosin, and kief, and many pre-rolls stack two or more.
- “Diamond infused” means crystallized THCa is mixed in; diamonds have no flavor of their own, so the strain’s flower carries the taste.
- “Quad infused” and “triple infused” are brand names for stacked infusions, like Jeeter’s diamonds, rosin, terpenes and kief coat.
- NugHub carries infused pre-rolls from Jeeter, Rove, Monarchy, Heavy Hitters, Dogwalkers, State of Mind, Moonlit Hash Co., Ruby Farms and more, in store on Forest Ave and for delivery.
Scroll the pre-roll section of a New York menu and a lot of it says “infused.” There’s diamond infused, live resin infused, hash infused, quad infused and triple infused. It all sounds like more, but more of what?
The label tells you, once you know what the words mean. We sorted the infused pre-rolls on our Forest Ave shelf by what’s actually inside them, and we’ve got opinions on a few of each.
What is an infused pre-roll?
An infused pre-roll is a joint with cannabis concentrate mixed into the flower, coated on the outside, or both, and sometimes finished with kief.
A regular pre-roll is ground flower in a paper. An infused one adds concentrate, and per Weedmaps’ guide it can go inside, mixed with the flower, or outside, coated on the paper.
Inside infusion spreads the concentrate through the whole joint, which Weedmaps says gives a more gradual, even burn. Outside coatings put it right on the paper, and they’re often the base for a dusting of kief.
Most product names tell you which concentrate went in. When a label just says “infused” and stops there, check the product page. That’s where brands spell out what’s inside.
What are the main types of infused pre-rolls?
Most infused pre-rolls use THCa diamonds, live resin, hash or rosin, or kief. Each changes the flavor and texture, and some stack several.
The table lines them up with examples from our menu. Stock changes week to week, so treat the brands as a starting point.
| Infusion | What it is | What it changes | Examples we carry |
|---|---|---|---|
| THCa diamonds | Crystallized THCa with no flavor of its own | Flower carries the taste | Monarchy, Heavy Hitters, Dogwalkers Show Dog, Bodega Boyz Loosies |
| Live resin | Concentrate made from fresh-frozen plants | Terpene-forward, strain-specific flavor | State of Mind, MFNY |
| Hash or rosin | Pressed or sifted trichomes, often solventless | Richer, hash-forward taste | Moonlit Hash Co., Ruby Farms |
| Kief | Loose trichome dust | A dusty coat on the outside | Jeeter (as a finish), kief-infused ground flower |
| Stacked (triple, quad) | Two or more of the above | Layers of each | Jeeter Quad Infused, Rove Ice Packs, STATIC Triple Infused |

What does “diamond infused” mean?
Diamond infused means crushed THCa diamonds are mixed into the flower. Diamonds have no smell or taste, so the strain’s flower sets the flavor.
THCa diamonds are crystals of THCa separated out of a cannabis extract. Leafly’s glossary notes they have no terpenes, so on their own they don’t add flavor. That’s the whole appeal for us. If you love what a strain tastes like, diamonds let it taste like itself.
On our shelf, Monarchy makes diamond-infused pre-rolls and blunts, Heavy Hitters sells diamond-infused 5-packs of half-grams, and Dogwalkers‘ Show Dog minis pair strain-specific flower with diamonds. Bodega Boyz Loosies are another diamond-infused single.

What do “quad infused” and “triple infused” mean?
They’re brand names for pre-rolls with several infusions stacked together. The product description lists exactly which concentrates are in each one.
On our shelf, Jeeter’s Quad Infused pre-rolls are the easiest example. Jeeter’s description lists four layers, which are THCa diamonds, rosin, a crafted terpene blend and a kief-coated finish. They come in 1g singles, 2g XLs and Baby Jeeter 5-packs.
Rove calls its Ice Packs triple infused, meaning flower infused with THCa diamonds and solventless ice hash rosin. STATIC‘s Triple Infused pre-rolls combine flower with several concentrates in a 1.25g single or a 5-pack.
The number in the name counts layers. Bigger isn’t automatically better, so pick based on which of those layers you actually like.

Should you pick a live resin or rosin infusion?
Both bring strain flavor. Live resin is extracted from fresh-frozen plants, while rosin is pressed from flower or hash with heat and pressure.
People mix these two up all the time, since both are flavor plays. The difference is how they’re made. Live resin comes from plants frozen right after harvest and then extracted, which is why it keeps so much of that fresh-plant smell. Rosin, as Weedmaps puts it, is made by applying heat and pressure to flower or hash, with no solvents involved.
In a pre-roll, that mostly comes down to taste. If you love how a strain smells in the jar, a live resin core like State of Mind’s keeps that front and center. If you’re into hash, a rosin or hash infusion leans richer and earthier.
Our distillate vs live resin vs live rosin guide goes deeper on how each concentrate is made.
Which infused pre-rolls should you try at NugHub?
Pick the infusion first, then the strain. Go live resin or rosin for flavor, diamonds to let the flower lead, and stacked if you want it all.
Our picks, sorted by what you’re in the mood for.
- If flavor comes first, grab a State of Mind 5-pack. Each one has a strain-specific live resin core, and the MAC Berry x Zkittlez pack tastes like berries and candy fruit from start to finish. MFNY‘s live resin infused pre-rolls are another good call.
- Hash fans, look at Moonlit Hash Co.‘s hash-infused 1.2g pre-rolls or Ruby Farms‘ Hash Infused Doobies, a 2-pack of half-grams. The Biscotti Jealousy Doobies lean sweet, like cookie dough and vanilla with a little gas underneath.
- To let the flower lead, go with Monarchy, Heavy Hitters or Dogwalkers. They all use diamonds, so the strain does the talking. Heavy Hitters’ Trainwreck is a good example, all old-school pine and lemon.
- If you want everything in one joint, Jeeter Quad Infused and Rove Ice Packs stack diamonds, rosin and more. If you’re new to stacked pre-rolls, we’d start with a single before buying a pack.
- If you’d rather roll your own, kief-infused ground flower from Smoakland and Budd comes ready to roll in 14g bags.
Multi-packs of minis, like Heavy Hitters’ five half-grams or Dogwalkers’ five .45g Show Dogs, are handy when you want a smaller joint or something to share.
Are infused pre-rolls different from infused blunts?
Same idea, bigger wrap. Infused blunts add concentrate to flower in a blunt wrap and usually hold more, like Monarchy’s 1.5g diamond-infused blunts.
An infused blunt is the same recipe in a blunt wrap that holds more flower. On our menu, Monarchy makes diamond-infused blunts, and Claybourne’s Flyers are 1.5g infused blunts.
Take away the paper, coat the bud in concentrate and roll it in kief, and you’ve got moon rocks. Our moon rocks guide explains how they’re made, and our kief guide covers the dust on the outside.

An infused pre-roll is a joint with cannabis concentrate added, either mixed into the flower, coated on the outside of the paper, or both.
What does diamond infused mean?
It means crushed THCa diamonds are mixed into the flower. Diamonds have no flavor of their own, so the strain’s flower carries the taste.

It’s Jeeter’s name for pre-rolls with four layers. Per Jeeter’s product description, those are THCa diamonds, rosin, a terpene blend and a kief-coated finish.

A regular pre-roll is just ground flower. An infused pre-roll adds concentrate like diamonds, live resin, hash, rosin or kief to that flower.
